Missouri and Arkansas Depots

The Missouri and Arkansas was the successor to the Missouri and North Arkansas Railroad which ran from southern Missouri through Harrison, Arkansas to Helena, Arkansas. The railroad suffered a strike in the late 1940's which put the always financially troubled railroad out of business.

Parts of the line were operated by other railroads including the Helena Northwestern, the Cotton Plant & Fargo and the Arkansas & Ozarks. However by the 1960's, most of the line had been abandoned and scrapped

The modern Missouri and Northern Arkansas should not be confused with the older MNA. The modern MNA operates the former Missouri Pacific White River line from Newport, Arkansas into southern Missouri.

(Note the Bellefonte, Georgetown and Pangburn depots are now private residences and may not be open to the public)
