SELF-ALIGNING DUAL PURPOSE WARNING HEADLIGHT APPARATUS

This patent refers to a braking circuit which will bring the reflector 27 back into a predetermined alignment upon cessation of gyration. In this way the light could be used as a regular headlight (non-gyrating mode).

Electric motor 22 powers a delivery shaft 23. The motor can be stopped in a predetermined position via a flattened portion 50 on the collar of the motor delivery shaft 23 and a microswitch activating arm. When it is desired to stop the gyrating action of the light, the "switching off" action is such that when the flat part 50 of the collar is found by the microswitch activating arm, a mechanical braking circuit is activated which stops the shaft. This effectively would bring the gyrating light back into a positon parallel with the tracks.
