The Frames
Front
I am concentrating on the front frame (one at a time). I am using 5/8 plate for the side frames although ¾ would be scale. I am not sure of the alloy but for the price (2 pieces 12 foot by 8 inch $36.00 USD) I can’t complain.
This is the raw material.
I printed a scale outline and glued it to one half of one of the plates and cut as much as I could with a band saw.
This is what it looks like
Then I bolted the two halves together and placed them on the mill.
Milling the front frame. It took six setups to get all the way around
And after many hours (about 150) they get bolted together
Fitting the pedestal closure plates
