Feb 22, 2009- Our third meeting was held at the Ft. Worth Meacham airport in the Vintage Flying Museum. This facility was courtesy of Kent Lewis. Thanks Kent! There were two module sets that were displayed by Jacob Damron and Foster Brennen. Ryan Harris was a new face in the crowd from the area. He brought some superbly detailed freight cars, trucks, and trailers. Jeff Ritter brought some locos and cars to display as well as a DCC controller so we had engines running on the modules, be it only 3ft. there were trains running with sound! We had ten people show for the meeting and received a warm welcome and interest from the aircraft volunteers. It isn't every Free-mo group that gets to set up under the wings of a B-25 and B-17. It was unanimous that the facilities at the VFM were capable and appropriate for large Free-mo setups. In the future, each setup at the VFM will require an entry fee of $8 for each member. This is an entry fee that is charged by the museum and none of these funds go to the group or any member of the group. Eight dollars for the use of this space was considered by all as cheap enough rent.
