Happy new year! We'll begin a six month series on the line through the Salmonberry River Canyon with this look at the 4414, 4405 and 4432 trying to get a train moving between tunnels 29 and 30, near MP 806.5. With no grade crossings for 16 miles, and only limited access, the Salmonberry River canyon is the often overlooked scenic gem of the line.
