POTB Car Roster
The Port owns a small fleet of freight cars that are used mainly in maintenance of way, work train and online use. The railroad no longer interchange its own cars to the outside world. This roster will be gradually expanded to include photos of each car in use. But for now, enjoy!

POTB 0001 50' Gondola, ex- Southern Pacific 337731.
POTB 0002 FP5 Flat Car - 56'6". Ex-Southern Pacific.
POTB 0003 40' Boxcar, ex United States Air Force, DAFX 26692. Built April, 1953.
POTB 0004 40' Boxcar, ex USAF, DAFX 26688. Built April, 1953.
POTB 0005 FP5 Flat Car - 56'6". Former US Air Force. USAFX 35783. Built Oct., 1952.
POTB 0006 FP5 Flat Car - 56'6". Former US Air Force. USAF 35806. Built by Thrall, Dec., 1952?? (I will have to verify this info.).
POTB 007 Track Sprinkler car, former 10,000 gallon tank car, ex-Shipper's Car Line (SCCX) 1254. Fitted with a pump and sprinklers 6-00. Car number replaces 50 foot flat car that was scrapped a number of years ago. Note: This car has been retired.
POTB 0008 90 ton Depressed Center Flat, 2 axle trucks. Unique, to say the least. This car is used primarily to transport the Daewoo excavator that is used for loading logs and other purposes.

POTB 0019 Heavy-duty Flat. Formerly USAX 38697. 80 ton flat built by Magor in 1953, according to markings on the car.

3-axle Heavy Flat, ex-US Dept. of Energy, Hanford.

LP&N 277 Ballast hopper. Former Longview, Portland and Northern RR, used at Gardiner, OR, and stored at Gardiner Jct. for several years. Purchased by the POTB in March, 2002.
POTB 1140 Caboose, ex-SP 1140. Stove and other appliances have been removed from interior. This car was recently repaired using the trucks and other parts from tank car no. 7, and is again in regular weekly service.
POTB 021 Former Department of Defense 10,000 gallon (10,173) tank car. To be fitted with track sprinklers and valves for sprinkler service this summer and in the future. Not yet in service. Friction bearings. Original number DODX 11956. Built Sept., 1949.
POTB 022 Former Department of Defense 10,000 gallon tank car. To be fitted with track sprinklers and valves for sprinkler service this summer and in the future. Not yet in service. Original number DODX 11970. Built Oct., 1949.
POTB 023 Former Department of Defense 10,000 gallon (10,206) tank car. To be fitted with track sprinklers and valves for sprinkler service this summer and in the future. Friction bearings. Original number DODX 11761. Blt. June, 1948.
POTB 024 Former Department of Defense 10,000 gallon (10,206 actually) tank car. To be fitted with track sprinklers and valves for sprinkler service this summer and in the future. Friction bearings. Original number DODX 11720. Blt. May, 1949.
POTB 0100 Scott Wickert, owner of the Heisler steam engine no. 2 currently in use on the POTB, also owns this open air car, which was built on the frame of a flat car last winter. The car is temporarily numbered using POTB reporting marks.

The port recently purchased four 10,000 gallon tank cars from the Department of Defense. They will be fitted with sprinkers and used for fire protection along the line during the summer fire season.
