Important!

Friends,

I recently took a look at the hit stats for the site, and saw that we surpassed 10,000 hits a few months ago, without much fanfare. I must say that the site has grown far beyond my wildest expectations, and I have no one to thank except all of you who have visited the site over the last two years.

I have recieved a number of e-mails asking why I don't go into more detail about some of the other coastal branches. My typical (and very truthful) answer has been that I don't have the time to do it all to the same standards that I have set for this site. Frankly, since moving to Tillamook, I have found that I am actually able to do LESS on the site than I did from 300 miles away. Suffice it to say that the Port is keeping me plenty busy, though I am certainly not complaining.

I recently drove, in a two-day stretch, the Coos Bay line and the Astoria branch, and was quite impressed with what I saw. Later, it dawned on me that I could, perhaps even should do it. So, without further adieu, let me tease you with: (VERY rough draft...)

But here's the catch. I can't, and shouldn't do it alone. I still don't know enough, and I don't have the time to master it all. I need your help. If you have access to a computer. (And face it, you do, or you wouldn't be reading this...), knowledge of html, and a love for a particular branch along the Oregon Coast, I'd love to hear from you.

I would like to combine my efforts with editors for the Astoria, Toledo and Coos Bay lines, as well as a news editor, and maybe even a Tillamook line editor, to create the most complete website on all four of these most spectacular coastal branches, all in one place. My intent is to keep all four sections of the site similar in content and style to this site, while adding some new twists. I will help get things set up and started.

If you are interested in getting involved, please send me an e-mail at potb101@netscape.net for further information. I am very excited about this, and would like to get underway as soon as possible. Thanks.

Update: 2-17-01. We still need help with the Coos Bay line and the Astoria Line. If you are interested, please e-mail me.
