Inside the 20585

Looking at the open gyralight, you can see the internal mechanism of the 20585 which holds two bulbs, the motor and associated hardware connecting the motor shaft to the bulb platform. The internal mechanism can be removed as a unit for easy servicing and repair by unscrewing the two slotted retaining bolts on either side of the mechanism about half way up.

Power for the lights and motors reaches the internal mechanism through two connectors at the bottom of the unit. These need to be unconnected from the unit prior to its removal. To reach the connectors, the lower bulb must be removed by pulling out and lifting the spring-loaded latching knob. This allows the bulb retaining ring to be hinged back. The power wires attached to the bulb with screw terminals must also be unhooked.

With the mechanism removed, the connectors and mounting hardware for the internal mechanism are clearly visible.
