PCC No.12 curves toward Orange Street on its inbound run. In a couple of seconds it will cross the former Delaware, Lackawanna & Western main line, cross Orange Street on the subway's only grade crossing, then pause at the Orange Street station.

TT2107

Conventional traffic lights protect the Orange Street grade crossing. Inbound PCC No.12 has pulled up to the crossing and waited for a green light, and now proceeds across.

TT2108

Outbound PCC No.2 crosses Orange Street while an inbound car has just arrived at the station.

TT2109

The last above-ground station is Norfolk Street. The tracks are in a deep cut here as inbound car No.15 approaches. Note the ramps that led up to the 23-Central Avenue line, connecting the City Subway to a vast traction empire.

TT2110

PCC No.2 is inbound as it approaches the Norfolk Street station. The iron bridge in the background is Central Avenue.

TT2111

PCC No.1 pauses at Norfolk Street before proceeding inbound.

TT2112

PCC No.2 is ready to duck into the tunnel for the remaineder of its trip into downtown. Ahead are stations at Warren Street, Washington Street, Broad Street and Pennsylvania Station.
