D Stock at Ealing Common (Railed)

D Stk Ecmdt 2.jpg (32669 bytes)

District Line D Stock trains "railed" ready for service at Ealing Common Depot.  The trains are positioned so that the front car is standing on the current rails while the rest of the train remains inside the shed, where there are no current rails.  The shed is equipped with a shore supply known as "overhead leads", consisting of plugs suspended from trolleys running on roof mounted rails.  The leads plug into "shed receptacles" provided on  motor cars.
