A Visit to the Elbow Valley Line

At the NMRA convention layout Tours I had the privledge of visiting the model railroad of Tom Waters here in Boise. The Elbow Valley Line is a smaller 'twice around' HO layout located in his basement. He has several nicely detailed scenes pictured below. It was a brief tour but one my daughter and I enjoyed.

The center penninsula where the wye is located also has this little town scene.

A Union Pacific freight passes on the high line. The backdrop is just painted blue but seems to glow with the flash. The curved corners really were impressive, the corner of the wall is located directly behind the corner of the layout but is practically invisible to the camera.

The farm scene is located directly in front of and below the city. The foam cuhsion does a good job of keeping elbows off the scenery.

Life in the city.
