Here is your chance to bid on the 'Special Run' show car

Saint Louis Special Run Car

George Johnsen has announced that deluxe innovations is making a "Very Special", "Special Run" boxcar for the Saint Louis N Gathering. There will only be 90 of these cars made. They will be a 40 foot boxcar in a near match to the MoPac Eagle Express car. The car will be cream with dark blue stripes and feature all 20 railroad logos of the roads that came into Saint Louis in the Steam/Transition Era. The logos will be in Red, White, Black, and Green. The railroads are: IC, MKT, TRRA, Manufacturers, L&N, GM&O, NYC, C&EI, B&O, MP, NKP, SRR, SLSF, RI, CB&Q, SSW, CNW, WAB, A&S, and PRR. This is indeed a special and unique car for your collection.

There are 10 logos on each side, Lines from the West on one and Lines from the East on the other. The top blue band says "See you in St Louis!" and the car is lettered for the TRRA. There will be just one road number.

The cars will be auctioned in the type of "by mail" auction the NTRAK Newsletter has used in the past when we have had a small number of identical items.

Minimum bid $25.

All winners pay the 90th highest bid price. For example, if the top bid is $100 and the 90th highest is $31.27, then all 90 pay $31.27. In case of a tie, the earlier postmark wins. If 2 bids from the same person, only the highest will be used. If fewer than 90 bids are received, high bidders can buy two cars. Bids must be received by Monday, July 23, 2001. The winners will be notified and the cars will be mailed upon receipt of payment.

No envelopes will be opened until the deadline. All profits from the auction will go toward the expenses of putting on the "free" Saint Louis N Gathering and for publishing the NTRAK Newsletter.

No e-mail bids will be accepted, but you may ask to be notified by e-mail if you are a winner.
