Sierra Club and Transit NOW lead
Tour de Transportation/Smart Growth in Kenosha, Wisconsin
Transit Oriented Development Helps Revitalize Neighborhoods. Extending Chicago Metra (commuter rail) from Kenosha to Milwaukee will generate economic development in communities with transit stops. The recently released Sierra Club national map, Smart Choices, Less Traffic, highlights the Kenosha-Racine-Milwaukee (KRM) commuter rail project as a transportation solution for the 21st century.
Milwaukee, WIWith the average American spending 55 workdays a year stuck in traffic, the Sierra Club and Transit NOW will host a Tour de Transportation/Smart Growth on Tuesday to highlight economic and environmental benefits to communities that come from offering transportation choices. Metra currently links Kenosha to Chicago with commuter rail. Following the press conference, climb aboard for a 15-min trolley tour of surrounding developments, including the HarborPark Residential Development.
