The Burlington Northern Railroad is now just another fallen flag since the merger between BN and ATSF which formed BNSF. BN itself was a product of mergers since it was formed by the merger between Chicago Burlington & Quincy, Great Northern, Northern Pacific and Spokane Portland & Seattle. The new railroads network streched from Chicago to the pacific northwest across plaines and over wild mountain territory down to the Pacific Ocean.
