A westbound coal train at Cisco, BC.

Canadian Pacific was Canada's first transcontinental railroad. It's network stretches from Quebec to British Columbia. The line through the Rockies in western Canada is very scenic, the railroad goes through the mountains by way of awesome Kicking Horse and Rogers Pass and the Thompson and Fraser River Canyons. The latter is operated jointly by CP and CN as a doubletrack with westbounds using CN and eastbounds CP. The action-red locomotives really stand out from the scenery whether it is white winter or green summer. CP is a company with a rich history and some of that is showcased with it's luxury cruise train, the Royal Canadian Pacific, that CP is operating in the Rockies with Calgary as starting point.
