Metropolitan Rail, Metra, is a subsidiary of Chicago Regional Transportation Authority, RTA, and operates 12 commuter rail lines that provide service to 223 outlying stations in the six-county area of northeast Illinois. Motive power are F40C, F40PH and F40PHM-2 diesels built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division. The passenger cars are bilevel gallery cars of various ancestry such as Chicago & Northwestern and Rock Island. Metra operates out of La Salle Street Station, Madison Street Station, Union Station and Randolph Street Station in Chicago. To view
