Oaks Model Railroad Club
NRHS Reading FP7A Excursion

On June 3, 2000, the National Railroad Historical Society commemorated the 50th Anniversary of the introduction of the EMD FP7A on the fabled Reading Streamliner "The Crusader". Two of the three surviving units have been restored to operation by the Philadelphia and the Lancaster Chapters. They, along with a Septa RL1 providing headend power, pulled a charter consisting of 5 Septa Bombardier coaches, including 2 new center door cars, and a cab control car. Originating at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, the train ran up the Northeast Corridor to the Reading Connection at 16st Street, then up to Norristown, Lansdale and West Trenton before returning to Philadelphia.
