This yard office replaced an old wooden one which burned down. Story goes a yardman went into the office and tried talking to the chief clerk who brushed him off saying he was busy. When the yardman persisted the chief clerk angrily said "I told I'm busy, don't bother me." "I'm trying to tell you the yard office is on fire!" With that the chief clerk wisely grabbed the car records books and left the building.
