I thought you might be interested in some verification of the exact date in March 1963 that Gary Armstrong photographed CN 3878. I have the daily train movement sheets from Cardinal Ontario from 1961 thru 1967 and managed to find that CN 3878 was the lead unit on the westbound "Bunk" which did switching at various stations each day (except Sunday?). It arrived at Cardinal at 10:05 am on Saturday,March 16,1963 and departed at 10:25 am...off 7 loads and 1 empty.

My father, the late Alex Roy was on duty that day as operator....and my juvenile handwriting attests to the fact I was also there that day as his "helper".....age 10.
