The Silt Division of the D&RGW is the creation of Dick and Janet Maddock. On their property, located in Silt Colorado, they have built a true outdoor railroad that is an 1 1/2" scale, 7 1/2" gauge, live steam ride on experience. The locomotive was built from a kit in the machine shop that Dick owns and has over 1000 man hours. 2003 was a great year for Dick and Janet as they vacationed at Train Mountain in Oregon with their son Duanne. The spent the week running all over the right-of-way and came back with some great ideas for their railroad.
