The Grand Funk Western is a large scale layout, built in the backyard of club secretary Eric Walter. It is built with no. 1 gauge track and is a modified, point to point, dogbone with a wye to facilitate turning trains in the event of operating sessions. He has a Bachmann Shay that is equipped with radio control and sound. During the summer, it's not uncommon to end club meetings early and reconvene at his layout with other members and their equipment.
