The two sections are joined using metal alignment pins, which make the sections match up exactly every time. This time around, we're not using any bridge rails to join the two sections - we're securely fastening down the rail by driving wood screws into the sub-roadbed - then soldering the rail to them - and finally cutting the rail between the sections with a fine razor saw. They won't move, and they won't get knocked out of alignment. That will help speed up the setup and tear-down process. (You are here: SJSG Home -> Layouts -> New Layout Index -> Picture19)
