What does a steam engine have in common with a woman?  Well they both
have a tender behind of course!  In this episode we're gonna look
at the modifications I made to the standard Bachmann tender to bring it
up to 7/8 scale standards and looks!  To the left is the stock tender,
looks so innocent, little does it know whats getting ready to happen to
it! |

One of the main problems with the  tender as is, is its a little too
narrow, so off comes the shell, and to the bandsaw we go!   Sliced
her right down the middle.  Now to splice a half inch into her center
to get her to look right |

After the splice is made with styrene plates, a little Squadron green putty
takes care of making it nice and neat.   I sanded off the rivet
detail that was molded into the tender and prepared for the new ones by
applying a .001 styrene side and ends.   |

The markings for inserting the new rivetheads are apparent.  These
are made from sequin pins and each one requires that a hole be drilled
and it be inserted individually  |
